Breastfeeding consultation can be a vital piece in creating a healthy feeding relationship with your baby.. While breastfeeding is a very natural act, it is not always easy. There are several issues that can disrupt your breastfeeding success.
I am not of the belief that breastfeeding hurts and we just have to get use to it. As a Lactation consultant I hope to assist, teach, and support mothers in achieving the best feeding relationship with their baby that is specialized to them. Every Mother and baby dyad are unique and deserve a care that fits there individual needs.
An initial visit is usually 1.5-2 hours, this time allows me to fully evaluate history, anatomy of mother and baby, observe babies behavior when nursing, do craniosacral therapy if needed, and teach mother ways that will aid in feeding.
